President's Message March 2023

Oh the thought of spring, the Vernal Equinox to be very specific, which by the way, begins on March 20^th.  For most of us, we feel renewed and alive with more daylight, warmer weather, and new growth as buds show their heads in flower beds and trees. Spring can be filled with exciting possibilities, helping us to feel re-energized and eager! And, for all of the reasons I listed, I personally have always used and continue to use this time of the year to review and evaluate my professional growth.

Each year, my review begins with the center of my diagram titled “Continuing to Learn.” I feel I will never be “there” to the sweet spot of not needing to learn. I encourage each of you to take advantage of our SMPS tools—learn from our engaging education programs, attend our information-filled lunch programs, and read our own digital newsletter focused on our chapter or The Buzz, located on our website. SMPS HQ proudly hosts a basket full of resources ranging from tips and FAQs to in-depth references. And, of course, there is no better way to enhance our professional careers than to volunteer, at any level.
