How long have you worked at your company?
2 years.

How would you describe your role/job?
I assemble project proposals and design marketing materials including website updates, social media posts, brochures, leave-behinds and any other graphics Design West needs. I occasionally photograph projects and I take our company headshots. I work closely with the architects, project managers, and marketing director, while also creating and maintaining client relationships.

What are the rewards of your job?
Developing relationships and working closely with others to develop a creative way to present the projects and ideas. Also seeing projects from start to finish.

What are your challenges?
Waiting patiently to receive results back on completed proposals and interviews.

What has been your most meaningful project?
I cannot think of just one project, but I love working on K-12 and higher education projects because I am passionate about education and providing resources and environments to allow students to receive the best education and experiences.

How long have you been an SMPS member?
2 years.

How has SMPS membership helped you?
SMPS has helped me develop wonderful relationships and connections as well as helped me quickly gain more knowledge about the A/E/C industry. It has also provided me with so many resources and opportunities to step out of my comfort zone which has led me to some great leadership opportunities and friendships.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. No one got to where they are today without help along the way.

What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Work hard and be nice to people.

What has contributed to your success?
Many wonderful mentors, friends, coworkers, SMPS and stepping out of my comfort zone.

What’s on your bucket list?
To attend a Jimmy Fallon show and to see baby sea turtles hatch.

What was your childhood dream?
To work with animals.

Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
French fries.
