How long have you worked at your company?
2 years
How would you describe your role/job?
“People Ops”—business development, HR, and client insight specialist working with clients on their own brand and identity development.
What are the rewards of your job?
My own growth and development learning new things and being challenged. I love working with all of inForm’s internal and external people. I have been learning about a wide variety of firm areas very quickly.
What are your challenges?
Can I say the exact same as the rewards?
What has been your most meaningful project?
One of our most valuable client relationships sparked out of their appreciation of my unique addition of behavioral science and experiential expertise to the architectural firm, so I’m quite proud of that one.
Growing our internal client base is a tight second, though, as I’m loving the HR and team building aspects at inForm.
How long have you been an SMPS member?
2 years
What is your role on the Board?
Registration
What led you to serve on the Board?
Friends within SMPS, of course!
How has SMPS membership helped you?
SMPS has been a great learning and networking resource for me from the first minutes of this new career focus. This is a new world for me after 20 years of providing family and mental health therapy, so the resource this network has provided in information and relationships has been very helpful.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
The road that feels right may not be the right road forever, it might just be the road to help you get where you need to be.
What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
I believe we are passionate about things for a reason, often based on our innate talents and purposes. Follow what you love. Do what you feel strongly about.
What has contributed to your success?
I have always loved learning and been fascinated with people and cultures of all types. Working in therapy and with diverse people and situations, it becomes natural to read commonalities and universal themes across various challenges and opportunities. I have also had the opportunity to learn much in the shared journeys with my therapy clients. I am grateful for that.
What’s on your bucket list?
Heliskiing, windsurfing, and extended sailing
What was a childhood dream of yours?
To see the world.
Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
Coconut bai drinks, bicycles of all varieties, and water play in all forms (liquid or solid!).
