Role in SMPS?
Programs Committee Member.
How long have you been an SMPS member?
2 months
How long have you worked at your company?
3 months
How would you describe your role/job?
As a marketing intern, my primary focus is embracing a “learn it all” mindset. My job requires connecting with new and existing clients, ensuring their ongoing happiness and satisfaction. I work to ignite new and exciting content for the company through social media posts, lunch events, graphic design, and SEO. My role extends beyond external interactions, encompassing internal departmental collaborations to make certain every employee and client receives the support they require, all while having a welcoming smile through the process.
What are the rewards of your job?
My job has many rewards, but I love the fact that I get to help the company move towards success. I create strong relationships with clients and employees but also spread the word about FOCUS and bring others to their next fulfilling career or project. It is awesome to see how much my network has expanded and grown to meet so many wonderful people!
What are your challenges?
My main challenge is also my main motivator. I am extremely new to the industry, state, and company, therefore a lot less knowledgeable than most individuals. This challenges me to always pay keen attention to detail and ask questions to learn at a fast rate.
What has been your most meaningful project?
I have not worked on a lot of projects directly with our clients and company yet. As of right now, it is not a specific project, but getting some of my first SOQs out of the door was exciting! I was able to help our new office in Boise get their name out to new firms and potentially retain work off of that.
How has SMPS membership helped you?
SMPS membership has helped me in so many ways. I was honored to be the emerging professional scholarship recipient and could not be happier. Since then, I have attended trainings and talks while gaining a whole new chain of network. This is helping me to be more knowledgeable, spread our company, and meet amazing individuals.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
I have a feeling my dad says this without even realizing it. But whenever there is a question about whether or not to achieve something, he always ends up saying, “Well, why not go for it if the opportunity is out there?”
What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Anybody can be a hard worker; flaunt your unique personality that can’t be replaced.
What has contributed to your success?
My faith and the adventurous spirit my parents planted in me. Having the “Well, why not go for it if the opportunity is out there?” mindset has brought me so many opportunities because this has taught me it never hurts to try, the worst thing that will happen is that you fail, and the best thing is that you achieve something great.
What’s on your bucket list?
To open an environmentally sustainable coffee shop and bakery with a small farm and massive garden in the mountains of Poland.
What was your childhood dream?
I wanted to be an architect and have a huge horse farm.
Guilty pleasure:
Nature and anything outside.
