Name: Andi Wilson, CPSM
Company: Hunt Electric
Title: Marketing Specialist
Board Role: Director of Special Events
How long have you worked at your current company?
Three years currently, just over four-and-a-half years total.
How would you describe your role/job?
A little bit of everything! I’m involved in proposals, events, internal communications, and so much more.
What are the rewards of your job?
I get to work with a lot of great people, and I get to wear a lot of different hats.
What has been your most meaningful project?
I'm going to change this to one of the projects that was most meaningful to me. Several years ago, I helped coordinate the filming of a video for our apprenticeship program that was a great reminder of the impact our industry has on our communities. During filming, I had the chance to visit multiple large jobsites for the first time in a while. Seeing just how many people it takes to build a project really puts the importance of our industry into perspective, especially the specialty trades and contractors. I believe that everyone should visit a job mid-construction to raise awareness of the impact our industry has.
How long have you been an SMPS member?
3 years.
What led you to serve on the Board?
I was involved on another committee, and it helped hold me accountable in being an active member. It helped me attend meetings I might not have otherwise, which let me build relationships.
How has SMPS membership helped you?
Not only have I been able to learn a lot from the programs and educational events, but I have met so many people who are helping me become a better marketer.
What has contributed to your success?
The support from my family, friends, and colleagues.
What's on your bucket list?
In the last year or so, I was able to cross off going to Greece and going to California for a Utah/USC game. (Go Utes!) I also have a goal to go to every MLB stadium and watch a game. So far, I have been to nine!
Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
I couldn’t live without my dog, Milo! (And the rest of my family.) I also couldn’t live without pizza, my eyelash extensions, or chocolate.
