Tayler Buffi, Marketing Coordinator at Method Studio, is finding her way in the AEC community through her eye-catching work while she juggles networking and exploring industry resources.
How long have you been in the A/E/C Industry?
I have only been part of the A/E/C Industry for little over a year.
Your current firm and position there?
I am currently the Marketing Coordinator and Method Studio.
What are the rewards of your job?
One of the biggest rewards of my job is helping the team succeed by creating eye-catching marketing materials. When you see the finished building and know that you had a hand in creating such a successful project, it makes me excited to keeping doing what I do.
How has SMPS helped you?
With being very new to the industry, SMPS has helped me to feel more confident in what I am doing as well as help me become a better networker. Having a resource of knowledge to help me along in my career is amazing! One of my most favorite things about SMPS is being able to create relationships through a supportive community of like-minded people.
Hobbies / Favorite to Do's?
Some of my hobbies include watercolor painting, traveling, reading, playing video games, and enjoying the outdoors. A perfect weekend would consist of me camping in the mountains and reading or drawing in my hammock by the river…
Who inspires you?
There have been many people to inspire me throughout my life, but I would have to say that the most inspiring person is my mom. She has taught me to fight for what I believe in, to always stay true to myself, and how to be compassionate to others around me at the same time.
What is the last book you read?
I am a sucker for some Young Adult Fantasy, and just recently finished the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. But one of my all-time favorite books is Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens… ugh, such a good book.
Challenges/Accomplishments during the pandemic?
One of the biggest challenges was starting a new job in the middle of the pandemic—even after a year there are still many people that I have never met, and I still feel like the “new kid.” Creating relationships and comradery with co-workers has been quite hard.
Kids? Pets?
No kids, but have two quirky dogs Millie and Charlie.
