Brittney Boyle | Programs Chair

Brittney Boyle, Director of Marketing at Pentalon Construction, is SMPS Utah's Programs Chair. She brings a creativity and invaluable enthusiasm to our work as well as hers.

How long have you worked at your company?
Since June 2021

What are the rewards of your job?
I love the constant creativity and competitiveness that my job requires. I love that no day is every the same, and I get to learn something new all the time.

What are your challenges?
Right now, it is just time management. Being a one-person team and having to make sure social media stays consistent, events are attended do, proposals are completed, etc.

How long have you been an SMPS member?
I have been an SMPS member since 2019

What is your role on the Board?
Programs Chair

What led you to serve on the Board?
Nicole Marshall contacted me about the Programs Chair position, and I felt like it would be a good opportunity to expand my role within SMPS, and to increase my AEC network since it is an industry I have only been in a short time. I also wanted to help shape the programs that were going to be offered in 2021–2022 and see what new opportunities were available that we have not explored as a professional group.

How has SMPS membership helped you?
The friendships and business connections I have been able to make are priceless. The access to content, education, and creativity has helped me grow in an industry I was not familiar with.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
To sit back and think before you contribute and idea or opinion, make sure you will come off as a team player, and not a dominating persona.

What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Always ask questions. You never learn or grow if you don’t ask questions, and you won’t be faulted for doing so.

What’s on your bucket list?
I would love to travel to Europe and Africa someday. I have always wanted to visit Greece, Italy, France, and Prague. Africa recently got on my radar because I had a cousin who traveled there last year and seeing all the animals and adventures, he got to experience made me jealous!
