President's Message March 2022
Can you feel the momentum in the air?
While COVID certainly still lingers with us today, there is hope on the horizon. Downgraded from a pandemic to an endemic in certain jurisdictions, we are breathing a little bit easier these days in more ways than one.
With that, both our personal and professional lives are feeling all sorts of shifts. While some may be good shifts and others bad, change is inherently an opportunity. With this opportunity on our laps, and on our desks, I hope you are all finding some things to get excited about, to be inspired by, and to serve both your personal and professional needs that have been pent up for so long.
At SMPS Utah, we are thrilled to be getting back to in-person events. It is our hope, as we continue to encourage mask wearing and distancing as much as possible, that you are excited to join us for these events in-person too.
Last month, we had both a fantastic awards celebration and a lunch program in our new, larger program space. And that new, larger space came just in time, as this month, we will be hosting our popular legislative review event on March 30th.
In the next couple of months, we will also be excited to share some news with you about some new, workshop-style events where we will have the opportunity to learn and connect more immersively together - in both Salt Lake City and in St. George! Keep an eye out for more news about these special programs ahead.
And lastly, I hope that with this new moment of opportunity in our more immediate vision, you might take some time to consider the chance to take on a leadership role with SMPS Utah. Board elections will be coming up soon, so please think about the opportunity to step up and grow your professional leadership skills alongside of us here in the Chapter.
