President's Message June 2022

Summer brings so much with it. From shake ups to our schedules, to longer nights and early mornings, this season is one of those that I think we feel the most. 

I have heard so many people saying lately, “Let’s reconvene on that in the Fall.” 

There is certainly a little bit of a precious personal nature to this season, and I hope you all are making time and space for the family time, the outdoor adventures, and the joy that comes with this time of year. 

In addition, this season comes with a lot of great opportunities to invest in your career through a wealth of industry conferences. On the top of that list is our own national SMPS conference, now known as Amplify. Our army of marketers, business developers, and communicators from around the country will gather in Atlanta July 18-20th for three full days of the highest caliber of training to help us advance in our careers. If you haven’t yet had the chance to attend an SMPS national conference, it is worth the investment. These events remind us of the wealth of possibilities for us in this sector and spark new joy and optimism each time. Please reach out if you are still considering attending, and I’ll be happy to share my own personal stories with you from past SMPS conference events. 

We are also now in the process of preparing for our next leadership transition for our local SMPS Utah Chapter, and our new President Elect, Linda Hansen, is already hard at work getting prepared for the chance to lead us in the year ahead. As I have watched her prepare for this leadership post, I feel infinitely excited to see what she and the new Board will do in our 2022-2023 year. Linda is truly an outstanding leader, and we are all lucky to have her. I hope you all take the time to fill out our current membership survey so you can help steer our next group of leaders toward the content, events, and member benefits that are most important to you. 

I look forward to connecting with you all in-person at some of the great social events we have coming up soon, and am continuously grateful for the opportunity to serve this incredible chapter in the next couple of months ahead.
