Collectively 4 years

How long have you been an SMPS member?
Less than 1 week

How would you describe your role/job?
My primary role is to utilize our CRM and workflow programs to create and maintain our firm's data in way that is scalable and efficient.

What are the rewards of your job?
Getting the ability to learn about the AEC world through the lens of data.

What are your challenges?
Refining past data and altering it to increase it’s scalability.

What has been your most meaningful project?
My most meaningful project was a research project that I assisted with in my sophomore year in college. My economics professor and I looked into a possible correlation between the 2008 market crash and an increased interest in degrees in Economics.

How has SMPS membership helped you?
While I have not been a member for long, I believe SMPS will allow me to build connections in the AEC world.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
The best career advice I was given was to look for areas of improvement that people don’t know they have. It’s better to approach someone with a solution rather than a request for what their problem is.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
You can be an influential leader in many different ways. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to be powerful. Find and own your power — then use it to have a positive impact on your career and organization!

What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Pursue efficiency in everything you do. If you can become efficient in a task, you can allocate more time tackling more complex issues.

What has contributed to your success?
I would argue that in addition to my amazing support team, my desire to never stop learning has contributed to my success.

What’s on your bucket list?
The top item on my bucket list is to see the Northern Lights.

What was your childhood dream?
As silly as it sounds, my childhood dream was to work at a smoothie shop. I can proudly say that I achieved that dream in my freshman year of college.

Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
I CANNOT live without coffee. I will take coffee in almost any form. Iced, hot, and blended? No problem!
