President's Message December 2022
The time from Thanksgiving through the new year tends to beckon reflection and gratitude. While I wish I was more disciplined to feel these sentiments year-long, it’s been said that this period focused on loved ones, appreciation for what we have, and the positive attributes of life increases our collective well-being and prepares us to start fresh for the new year. As I interact with our SMPS community, I notice that each and every one of us is thankful for many things, which we are likely to disclose during this season.
As steward of this wonderful association, I continue to be so grateful for the guidance and dedication of past and present board members, committee members and all other SMPS members. While there have been some challenges, these doers and achievers tap into their passion and energy to work together and find solutions. I have to keep reminding myself that while each SMPS year is filled with difficulties, progress always seems to follow! Without all of our selfless volunteers, it would not be easy to continually strive to bring the networking and special events, the education and the programming sought by our AEC industry. I know that good things happen when we work together.
Whatever customs you may follow; I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. Take a few deep breaths and reflect at a personal and professional level and let’s enter 2023 with some renewed energy!
Sincerely,
Linda Hansen
