This will be my start.
How long have you worked at your company?
Around 6 Months.
How would you describe your role/job?
We help businesses develop simple to complex promotional programs to assist you in finding solutions to your business objectives.
I work with teams to help guide the proposal process for FFKR to procure work. This umbrellas cover a number of considerations: prompting narrative, curating experience, designing engaging proposals, etc.
What are the rewards of your job?
My main rewards are the allowance to utilize skills I’ve learned from both my time as a leader in the Army and during my time at USU, the opportunity to invest in learning a new world that I was previously ignorant of (architecture), and meeting groups of great, dedicated individuals.
What are your challenges?
Learning. I often feel I am in the deep end of the pool and lose focus on which way is “up.” However, I personally feel this has been a boon of sorts to my development at FFKR.
What has been your most meaningful project?
During my time doing an internship with FFKR, I was given The Loop Workforce Housing proposal to work on. I did not fully appreciate it at the time but it became a great run of my skills—both in managing a new organization system but also working with the talented individuals that have now become my friends, peers, and mentors.
How has SMPS membership helped you?
Because I’m new to this world, it’s given me an amazing resource that I was not expecting to be able to access so early in my career.
What is the best career advice you've received?
One of the most important lessons I learned from my time in the Army is the importance of individual integrity. In my opinion it is the backbone of all other personal traits that influence our values and morals.
What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
I always try to be open and honest and I’ve always tried to impress that on others. The simplest form of this is accepting when you’ve faltered, owning it, and admitting it so that you can improve.
What has contributed to your success?
It’s simple to conclude that my military service would be the greatest, but I would have never succeeded there without the great impression from my family. All members of my family are dedicated and driven and the only way to keep up with them is to be that same way. We all learned from each other to push for success.
What’s on your bucket list?
I hope to one day be able to start some business or organization or movement. I hope to head something that I am passionate about that will have a positive effect on the world.
What was your childhood dream?
I always wanted to make movies when I was a kid, I always asked for a camera on my birthday or Christmas. I love the concepts of telling a story, not only with narrative, but with the movement of a camera, a focal point. Influencing an audience to feel something built out of visuals, noise, movement, and color fascinates me.
Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
I want to say chips, candy, or video games. But in reality, it’s “a little peace and quiet.” I so strongly value time to sit and reflect with myself. I find it’s incredibly important to have some dedicated self reflection time but also allowing your mind to sprint a little and flex without the influence of other people, media, or noise.
